COSTUME CONSTRUCTION

1880s Corset
Corset drafted from Corsets and Crinolines by Norah Waugh. Features a spoon busk down the center, steel boning throughout, light pink embroidered coutil and lace. Fully self-lined.
Peacock Coat
Tailored coat draped for Hair at Michigan State University, Spring 2015 designed by Daniel Hobbs. Features dark purple velvet and white faux fur, tailored lapels, hand beaded peacock eyes.

1837 Mourning Gown Bodice
Bodice expanded from Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion. Bodice is made from silk faille, is fully lined, completely piped with 14 rows of ruching on each sleeve. Closure is hook and eye tape down center back.

1899 Wedding Dress Recreation
Recreated Harriet Sams' wedding dress from the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Draped bodice with standing collar, lapels and fake shirt front. Gored skirt with small bustle pleats at center back.
